why pilates and pt?
As a physical therapy aide, I'm constantly reminding patients that progress follows effort: taking control of your own rehabilitation and engaging in the prescribed exercises can advance and improve your recovery process. However, most people find themselves too busy (or, let's face it, too lazy) to set aside the necessary time for them. I wanted to spark some motivation! I became certified so that I could create an inventive way for our patients to actually DO their exercises and more. Rehabilitative Pilates will not only work on your injury, but it will also improve flexibility, endurance, kinesthetic awareness, strength, function, and perspective.
In a one-on-one coaching experience, you don't have to compare yourself to others or worry about keeping up, as you would in a Pilates class. The only thing that matters when you step through the door is YOUR body and mind; my job is to assist you in forming a strong connection between the two, which comes with practice.
