about the sessions
It begins with awareness.
We begin in a enclosed room with dim lights and calming music to help you release your mind from stress and distraction. A warm breeze circulates the room from a heated fan, and a pleasant hot rice pack rests cozy against your skin. You can hang your problems at the door and divert your attention to the different areas of your body that call for it. Through breathing techniques paired with mechanical coordination, we warm up the body and prepare our senses in understanding which areas need the most work.
Then the fun begins. We progress through a set of exercises that combine physical therapy exercises and the Pilates discipline, a method initially designed for injury rehabilitation and postural correction. I spend several hours in preparation, prior to the appointment, to create and run through a series that is best suitable for your current condition, medical history, and ultimate goals. We work through a routine that is appropriate yet challenging, with deep stretching and core engagement involved, then we finish it all off with an ice cold towel on the forehead and meditative relaxation.
I always leave you with a few tips to keep in mind. If you would like, you will receive weekly reminders on how to improve your posture and alleviate pain. I want you to stay as healthy and happy as humanly possible! :)
